The American Aviation Institute is an independent think tank for commercial aviation based in Washington, D.C. AAI draws on business, academic, regulatory and consumer perspectives to analyze airline, airport and government practices and policies, and makes specific, quantitative recommendations for the industry's improvement.

AAI focuses on policy and operating issues that impact all stakeholders, including projects in airline and air cargo operations, air traffic management, network profitability, flight scheduling, airline delays, safety enforcement, oil trends affecting airlines and other aviation issues.

We emphasize peer-reviewed research, statistical analysis and due diligence to reach relevant, unbiased conclusions to advance the industry. We seek input from executives, academics, consumer advocates and policy advisors who share a common interest in improving aviation. AAI membership is open to all companies and groups.
